Ant control treatment

They are probably the most frequent and persistent pests around homes and buildings. They are also found in restaurants, hospitals, warehouses and other buildings where they can find food and water. Once ants have established a colony inside or near a building, they may be difficult to control.

Several species of ants pose serious health threats to people who are sensitive to their stings. In extreme cases hospitalization may be required. Other species are known to carry diseases and can pose a threat in hospitals and veterinary clinics. Fortunately, these cases are uncommon and in general ants are mainly a nuisance pest rather than a heath problem.

Some ants build nests in walls and foundations, or indoors, in potted plants , enclosed areas and even in cavities in toilets and sinks.Ants seldom attack solid structures. Thus they usually do not cause structural damage to buildings but will take advantage of existing deterioration.

Nesting activity outdoors can result in excavated soil being deposited in gardens and on brickwork. A few species will occasionally attack electrical wiring, apparently being attracted to either the insulation or the magnetic fields produced by the wires . In these situations extensive damage has occurred. These chambers can cause soil to become soft and uneven, causing serious problems when found in golf courses or some types of pastures or crops.

For a proper ants management the key is identifying the nest. Pesterminators expertise in identifying the source and control them. However there are typically many methods they can do to help prevent the infestation in the first place. Our treatment protocol comply with IPM practices in preventing the infestation and the treatment technique to control them.

The mistake most pest control companies make when attempting to control ants is spraying only the ones they see. This approach usually fails because the ants seen foraging over exposed surfaces is only a small portion of the colony. Typically there will be thousands of additional ants including one or more egg-laying queens hidden somewhere in a nest. Eliminating queens and other colony members within nests is the key to effective ant control and Pesterminators ensure such control with long lasting effect.
